How much do you need for an inground pool?
Building an inground pool requires many considerations. We want to make sure you are fully prepared for the new addition to your home. The actual cost of building an in-ground pool will be determined by factors such as the style and materials you choose, the size of your pool and the time of year. (Choosing to begin your project during the off-season can often save you money.)
Factors that affect the costing of your in-ground pool:
1. Size
When it comes to pools, size definitely matters. How big is your backyard? What size pool would you like to have? Do you want additional features outside of your pool such as a tanning area? A very basic in-ground pool with a size of 32’ x 16’ roughly costs around $20,000.00 and up. A smaller pool, with a 10’ x 20’ size could only cost you half of that. However, if you opt for an Olympic sized pool, which is substantially larger than a traditional backyard pool, the cost will be much more than that.
2. Type of pool
There are three types of in-ground pools. A fiberglass pool is less expensive than a concrete pool typically. Vinyl-lined pools are the least expensive option up front. However, they will require replacement if they are punctured.
2. Location
If the location of the pool requires some construction and remodeling of your entire lawn or if the position of the house requires pool builders to use equipment to modify the area, the cost will increase accordingly.
3. Features
Are you looking for a backyard oasis or basic refreshment? Available pool features include natural waterfall structures, an entertainment bar, grotto, slides and beach-like barbecue site at night. Naturally, the more ornate your pool is, the more it will cost.
4. Plumbing
The more intricate your design, the more features your pool has, as well as the condition of the ground in your area will affect the cost of installing the plumbing. This is not an area where you want to cut costs. It’s much more cost effective to do it right the first time rather than have to make repairs and corrections later.
5. Permits
Building permits and taxes are always part of the cost when doing renovations. Depending on where you live, permits and inspections could run you anywhere from $400 to over $1000. Your HOA might require permitting, as well. We can help guide you through that.
